How we plan the PA

Every sound system is planned for the venue before it leaves the warehouse. We look at the room or site, audience size and stage layout, model the coverage and decide where main hangs, subwoofers, front fills and delay speakers go.

On site our engineers hang and tune the system, check coverage across the audience area and set it up for the FOH engineer. The result is even, clear sound from the front row to the back of the venue. The same approach applies to concert and tour production and festival main stages.

Stage monitors and wireless microphones

Stage monitors: d&b audiotechnik M4 wedges — a 2-way coaxial 15"/1.3" monitor with 50° × 70° constant-directivity dispersion and up to 140 dB SPL, run in passive or 2-way active mode on d&b amplifiers. Upright, the same cabinet works as a compact PA loudspeaker. Electro-Voice monitors complete the stage package.

Wireless microphones: Shure Axient Digital for headline vocals and critical channels, Shure ULX-D digital wireless with Beta 58A heads, Shure QLX-D digital wireless with SM58 heads and Sennheiser evolution wireless G4 with the MMK 965 condenser capsule.

Every monitor and microphone package is prepared to the rider, frequency-coordinated for the venue and tested before delivery.

Subwoofers, consoles and in-ear monitoring

Subwoofers: d&b audiotechnik SL-SUB cardioid subwoofers for GSL and KSL systems, and V-SUB and V-GSUB for V and Vi series arrays, flown or ground-stacked and arranged in cardioid or end-fire setups to keep low end off the stage. All d&b loudspeakers are driven by d&b D80 and D40 amplifiers with system presets.

Electro-Voice loudspeakers add stage monitors, side fills and compact fill speakers for smaller stages.

Consoles: DiGiCo Quantum and SD-series digital consoles for FOH and monitors, with stage racks on optical or MADI networks.

In-ear monitoring: wireless IEM systems to the rider, frequency-coordinated together with the wireless microphones.
